Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Volunteersgot some encouraging news on the 2025 recruiting front on Friday regarding a couple of their top targets. The Vols are now finalists for both David Sanders, Jr. AND Jaime Ffrench. The news isn’t that big of a deal for the former, as the Vols already were. However, On3 Sports’ Steve Wiltfong issued a projection for the Vols to land the five-star tackle Sanders when he announced his college destination on August 17. Predictions don’t always end up being on point, so these should always be taken with a grain of salt. However, the Vols…
The Silly Season is not over for the NASCAR Cup Series. Spire Motorsports has to find a replacement for Corey LaJoie. If Spire doesn’t act quickly, 2025 could be a shaky season with a driver not much better than LaJoie. Spire Motorsports announced that they were parting ways with LaJoie at the end of the season. He has been the anchor of that organization for the last four seasons. During that time, he had improved in each season, until this year. The numbers have not improved for LaJoie despite extra funding for Spire. Now, the team is looking to replace…
There were a lot of people getting impatient with the Baltimore Orioles about their lack of willingness to promote one of their top prospects, Coby Mayo. Considered Top 5 in their pipeline, and one of the best in all of baseball by multiple publications, the slugging third baseman watched his peers get called up to The Show while he had to stay patient in the minors. Eventually, his long-awaited promotion came on August 2, but much like Jackson Holliday during his first stint in the Majors, Mayo is struggling at the plate. The 6-foot-5 third baseman has failed to pick…

U.S. sprinter Noah Lyles only mustered a bronze medal at the highly anticipated men’s 200-meter final on Thursday, August 8. The outspoken track star appeared exhausted after the race and was eventually helped off the track via wheelchair. As it turns out, he had tested positive for COVID-19 two days prior. Shortly after the event, ESPN’s Coley Harvey reported that Lyles had also committed a violation. “Adding to matters, it appears Noah Lyles was also just given a yellow card for a violation of Technical Rule 7.1, which falls under ‘improper conduct,'” Coley wrote on X. “No clue why at this…
The University of Tennessee announced a contract extension for Lady Vols’ softball head coach Karen Weekly on Thursday. UT Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Danny White announced Tennessee athletics and Weekly have agreed in principle to a five-year contract extension through June 30, 2028. “It’s a privilege to be the softball coach at Tennessee and to work for Danny White,” Weekly said in a press release. “I appreciate his faith and trust in me to lead Lady Vol softball into the future. The support we receive from the athletics administration is phenomenal. Chancellor Donde Plowman is an incredible leader…
While two-time Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning prefers to keep his marriage and personal life private, he hasn’t held back any love for his family, including his No. 1 cheerleader and wife of over two decades, Ashley Manning (nĂ©e Thompson). The couple wed in 2001 after being introduced by Ashley’s parents’ next-door neighbor and welcomed their twins, Marshall and Mosley, 10 years later. When Peyton and the Denver Broncos won the Super Bowl in 2016, he told CBS’s Tracy Wolfson, “I want to go kiss my wife and my kids. I want to go hug my family.
Christian Moore has wasted zero time in making his case at a shot at the Los Angeles Angels’ roster, and the way things are going, the impossible just might be actually possible for the former Tennessee Vols slugger in 2024. Moore continues to hammer the baseball during his brief time in the minor leagues, jumping almost immediately from low-A ball up to double-A.  Since that jump? He’s continued his red-hot tear, and that culminated with a memorable moment on Wednesday night in Madison, Alabama for the Rocket City Trash Pandas. The walk off blast put Moore at 6 hits in 13 double A…
OXNARD, Calif. — They’re working to bounce back from a dark turn early in training, when the Dallas Cowboys lost one of their potential breakout pass rushers in Sam Williams, and for the entirety of the 2024 season — leaving the team to pivot and find solutions, both on the roster and potentially in free agency by way of two signings, to fill that void and, early on, the new additions are off to a solid start. Much also remains unknown about the contract statuses of both Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, though new offers have been put in front of both…
The Los Angeles Lakers pulled off arguably the biggest upset of the NBA season on Friday night as they dominated the Golden State Warriors, winning by 20 points. The Lakers started strong and never let up and their hunger stood out to Warriors All-Star forward Draymond Green. After the game, Green was extremely complimentary of the Lakers, calling them young and hungry according to Ryan Ward of Lakers Nation: Draymond Green on the Lakers: “That’s a young & hungry team with a new staff & their getting after it.” Even though the Lakers had been playing well this season, very…
