After Georgia quarterback Carson Beck’s shock entry into the transfer portal, a precedent has been set for draft eligible quarterbacks. Tennessee football has sent several great players to the NFL who have become legends in their own right. Tennessee has solidified its footprint across the league for decades, whether it’s players, coaches, or front office workers. Vols continue to be considered for coaching and front-office jobs throughout the NFL. In recent years, we’ve seen former Vols become coordinators, head coaches, and general managers, and recent reports from the NFL continue that trend. This would not be McKenzie’s first GM job in the NFL. He served as the Oakland Raiders general manager for seven seasons before being fired in 2018, one…
Carson Beck is leaving Georgia and hitting the transfer portal as the top available quarterback — and could soon also become the highest-paid transfer in college football history. Multiple outlets reported on Jan. 9 that the Bulldogs starter was planning to transfer, with a destination potentially already in mind. Beck was seen as one of the top quarterbacks available for the 2025 NFL draft, but struggled throughout the season and was hurt in the SEC title game, cutting his season short. Georgia’s season came to an end with a loss to Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff, with Beck’s…
COLUMBIA — It was a 40-minute dress rehearsal, and the final score dictated a thunderous ovation. But No. 2 South Carolina’s 90-49 gutting of Texas A&M on Jan. 9 had some questions among the reviews. Is that a sign of how dominant the Gamecocks are going to be the rest of the year, one game immediately after they lost Ashlyn Watkins for the season (while Maddy McDaniel remained on the bench with her own injury)? Or was Texas A&M (8-7, 1-2 SEC) just that bad? We wanted to get off to a quicker start, better start. And we did,” USC coach Dawn Staley said.…

The New England Patriots are going to be very active this offseason once again. Following their Week 18 win over the Buffalo Bills, the Patriots decided to fire Jerod Mayo after one season. It didn’t take long for players to comment on Mayo’s departure but the feeling sounded like a sigh of relief. The Patriots will keep Eliot Wolf around, and he will have a say in who they hire next as head coach. Going into Tuesday, the New York Jets were the only team with a GM opening but the Tennessee Titans joined them when they fired Ran Carthon. With Carthon no longer…
