Moussa Niakhate has apologised to Nottingham Forest fans
Moussa Niakhate has apologised to Nottingham Forest supporters after the Reds were beaten 2-1 by Newcastle on Friday. It was the player signed from Mainz that gave away a last-gasp penalty that robbed the Reds of a huge point.
Niakhate played for the Reds for the first time since August on Friday. He was paired with Felipe at the heart of the defence for Forest, making his return from an awful hamstring injury.

The Reds defender coped quite well against Alexander Isak. Although the player scored twice against Forest, Niakhate did restrict him to half chances and his pace proved vital.
Niakhate will be a big player for the Reds between now and the end of the season. They need points desperately though and the silly mistakes will need cutting out.
Forest have some huge games on the horizon. After the international break, they face Wolves at the City Ground, before playing Leeds and Aston Villa on their travels.
Niakhate signed for the club during a hectic summer transfer window. He looks like a great addition to the squad and now he will hope to get a run of games under his belt.

It was a moment of madness that’s for sure. Niakhate handled in the area in comical style and perhaps he will learn from this moment of madness.

The talented player needs more minutes. On Friday, he did show some signs of ring rust and he will want to shake those off quickly.
Niakhate, 26, signed from Mainz and for 18 months he was the captain of the Bundesliga outfit.
His leadership skills could prove vital between now and May. The Reds need all the influence they can get and Forest are in desperation mode right now.
Niakhate has posted an emotional message on Twitter. Clearly, he’s delighted to be back in the team but he will be keen to park his moment of madness on Friday night.
