In the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, rookie quarterback Jaren Hall of the Minnesota Vikings, starting for the first time in his career in lieu of an ailing Kirk Cousins, sustained a concussion.
After taking a big hit during a third-and-goal scramble, Hall needed assistance to the sidelines. Josh Dobbs, who was just acquired by the Minnesota Vikings via a deadline trade with the Cardinals, will take over at center after he was promptly declared out of the game.
K.J. Osborn, a wide receiver with the Vikings, also went down with a concussion in the first half. An ankle injury sustained in the second half eventually sidelined running back Cam Akers, the Vikings’ backup quarterback in case Dobbs was hurt.
Hall, a BYU graduate chosen in the fifth round of the 2023 draft, was thrown into the starting lineup on October 29 after Cousins suffered an Achilles injury that terminated his season.
Prior to his injury, Hall completed 5 of 6 passes for 78 yards, including 11 yards on the ground.
