Former Manchester United forward Dwight Yorke has slammed the club for passing up on signing Arsenal’s Kierney.
During the summer transfer window, Manchester United signed Mason Mount, Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund, and Sofyan Amrabat.
Despite the new additions, Erik ten Hag’s squad has had a mixed start to the 2017 Premier League season, losing to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Yorke, on the other hand, believes Manchester United should have signed Tierney, who left Arsenal on loan to join Real Sociedad in the final week of the summer window.
“I’m not really happy with Manchester United’s transfer window business,” Yorke said to Genting Casino.
“When you look at where Man United is as a team, we have signed names that will not excite people.” I believe we blew it with Kieran Tierney, as I enjoy his energy despite his injury troubles.
“We’ve finally signed a traditional striker, but I believe the manager believes in the players he has, and he must maximize their potential.” I’m guessing he’s pleased with the squad, and it’ll be interesting to watch what happens.”
