The Nigerian navy ship Beecroft on Thursday paraded 11 stowaways arrested on a high-speed Panama ship from Guangzhou to Ghana.
The stowaways said they thought the ship was heading to Europe and decided to follow it out of the country in search of greener pastures.
Lieutenant Commander Ayobami Tunde-Alli, representing the Commanding Officer of the NNS Beecroft, Commodore Kolawole Oguntuga, told journalists that the stowaways were arrested by the NNS Beecroft patrol at about 7 p.m.

Handing them over to the Nigerian Immigration Service in Apapa on Thursday, Tunde-Alli said: “In a special display of vigilance, the patrol team of the Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft, while on routine patrol, sought to intercept and arrested several individuals on Tuesday.
