When Ugochukwu joined the Blues in the summer, it was not anticipated that he would play a key role for the team this year. He was eligible to go on loan, but Mauricio Pochettino chose to keep him.
He received his first Premier League start of the season last weekend as Chelsea drew a scoreless match with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium due to a long list of ailments for the Stamford Bridge team.

When Chelsea plays Aston Villa this afternoon at Stamford Bridge, it is uncertain if Ugochukwu will receive his second consecutive Premier League start.
