The most recent Nottingham Forest news is available at NottinghamshireLive as Paul Merson predicts the outcome of the Reds vs. Manchester City game.
Nottingham Forest’s victory over Chelsea has been hailed by Paul Merson as “one of the shock results of the season.” He does not, however, believe that they will beat champion Manchester City.
On Saturday at 3 p.m., Steve Cooper’s Reds will take on Pep Guardiola’s City at the Etihad Stadium, having just defeated Chelsea 1-0 on the road. At Stamford Bridge, Anthony Elanga scored a goal for Forest.
Forest just played Burnley at the City Ground and drew 1-1 before playing City, who are currently top of the table with a perfect record after five games and who also triumphed in the Champions League in midweek.
In his Premier League picks for Sportskeeda, Merson stated, “Nottingham Forest secured one of the shock results of the season by defeating Chelsea earlier this month, but I don’t see anything other than a Manchester City win here.”
The current champions have a fantastic opportunity to win their game and put a lot of pressure on their opponents because Liverpool and Arsenal play on Sunday.
Since joining the team last season, Erling Haaland has been City’s star player, but I think Julian Alvarez is a great player. He is gifted with the capacity to score goals and create, as we witnessed in the UCL in midweek, and can play as a No. 10 or up forward.
“Long may it continue,” you say, “he’s playing pretty much every week this season.”
Merson projects Manchester City to defeat Nottingham Forest 3-1.
