9 YEAR-OLD Girl Powerful Question to Steph Curry Sparks Change
I’m happy to share some exciting news with you, but I have to clarify that it’s not breaking news since it happened in 2019 ¹. Nevertheless, it’s still a wonderful story! Steph Curry and 9-year-old Riley Morrison teamed up to create a special edition sneaker for International Women’s Day. Riley had written to Curry asking why his shoes didn’t come in girls’ sizes, and he was so impressed with her letter that he invited her to help design the new sneaker ¹. The resulting shoe, called the UA ICON Curry 6 United We Win, features inspiring quotes like “Girls Hoop Too” and “Play With Heart” ¹. Plus, proceeds from the shoe sales went towards a scholarship for a young woman from the Oakland area pursuing an education in a STEM-related field ¹. Isn’t that cool?
