David Griffin, the Pelicans’ executive vice president of basketball operations, was asked about Brandon Ingram’s future:
“Brandon (Ingram) wants to stay here. He believes in what we’re building. That’s meaningful to us. … At the same time, there’s a financial reality that we all deal with. We’re excited about Brandon. We know he’s excited about us.”
Ingram has one year remaining on his contract and is eligible for an extension, but the Pelicans are reluctant to offer him the max, league sources tell The Athletic.
