The Chicago Bears are almost certain to choose Caleb Williams with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Not only has Williams long been the overwhelming favorite to be chosen first overall by the Bears, but on Wednesday at USC’s Pro Day, the team’s general manager Ryan Poles, head coach Matt Eberflus, and offensive coordinator Shane Waldron were visibly present, days after the Bears traded former quarterback Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Before the quarterback’s on-field workouts, Keenan Allen, the new wide receiver for the Bears, who was friends with Williams during their time together in Los Angeles when Allen played for the Chargers, was present. However, another well-known potential future partner ofIn a recent FanDuel TV appearance, Williams—Bears star cornerback Jaylon Johnson—did not adopt a particularly hospitable demeanor when questioned about Williams.
Johnson remarked, “You just humble yourself coming into the building.” “You can’t bring that Hollywood crap into the building, especially not with people who have been in the league for years playing this game at a high level. It’s simply something that players like myself, players like Tremaine Edmunds, T.J. Edwards, and Keenan Allen, who are linebackers, will be able to see through. The Hollywood stuff you did in college is like, “Nah, you have to prove yourself.”
