The international player from France becomes Aston Villa’s third summer addition.

Despite having ten senior France caps, Diaby was left out of the team that advanced to the World Cup final in Qatar the previous year.
After rising through the ranks at his native Paris St Germain, Diaby relocated to Leverkusen in the 2019 season. Before concluding his transfer to Villa Park, he made 172 appearances for the Bundesliga team, scoring 49 goals.
Despite rumors that Al-Nassr of the Saudi Professional League was interested in Diaby, Villa closed the transfer, and he will now be a key member of a team that will compete in the Europa Conference League after finishing seventh in the Premier League the previous season.
Villa has already brought in free agent midfielder Youri Tielemans following his departure from Leicester this summer, as well as defender Pau Torres from Villarreal.
