The Atlanta Falcons will have a new quarterback under center in 2024, which means tight end Kyle Pitts may get a new uniform number.
The Falcons are set to sign Kirk Cousins to a four-year contract for up to $180 million, and Pitts intimated that he is willing to change his jersey number for his new quarterback. Cousins has worn the No. 8 since 2014 with Washington, and Pitts has worn the same jersey number since Atlanta selected him with the fourth overall choice in the 2021 NFL draft out of Florida.
Pitts appeared to hint at bringing back the No. 84 he wore with the Gators when he uploaded a photo of himself from his college days with the remark “Hmmm?”

Coincidentally, Pitts flatly denied on March 5 that he and Cousins had discussed who would get the No. 8 pick prior to the trade. It’s unknown whether the two spoke beforehand, but the 23-year-old tight end seemed ready to work with his new quarterback.
