There could be some tension brewing between Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson and former teammate Dalton Schultz, who is now with the Houston Texans.
On Friday, Ferguson uploaded a mysterious Instagram story depicting the Cowboys’ locker room with the phrase “It is a privilege, not a right, to play coach and work for the Dallas Cowboys.” Ferguson didn’t name anyone in his story, but considering the previous developments, he didn’t need to.
Earlier this week, Schultz, a Cowboys tight end from 2018 to 2022, spoke on The Pat McAfee Show to express his displeasure with the team’s culture, which he compared to “a zoo.”
“But the focus [in Houston] is just football,” Schultz remarked. “Some people were surprised when I told them about the Cowboys and described their daily interactions, such as people taking tours while lifting in the weight room.” And they have a one-way mirror for people to stare into; it’s like a zoo, dude.”
Putting two and two together, it’s not difficult to conclude that Ferguson posted his account in response to Schultz’s comments.
Ferguson was a rookie in 2022, so the two tight ends only played together for one season. Schultz, who played under the franchise tag that season, ended up moving across the state to Houston following.Ferguson now has the opportunity to take over as the top tight end.
