Texas Star Recruit Signs NIL Deal with Austin Car Dealership
A contract was reached between Vanguard Volkswagen and a number of new Longhorns, according to CJ Vogel of On Texas Football on Friday.
The four players who made a deal with Vanguard were wide receiver Matthew Golden, one transfer, Ryan Wingo, Colin Simmons, and Kobe Black. They also shared their agreement on social media.
The players each posted a photo of them posing with a new car or truck, flashing the ‘Horns Up’ and standing beside a member of the dealership.
Golden, a wide receiver for the University of Houston, caught 38 passes for 404 yards and six touchdowns in the previous campaign. He caught 13 touchdown passes in his two seasons as a member of the Cougars.
After going 12-2 previous season, the Texas Longhorns captured the Big 12 title for the first time since 2009—the team’s final trip to the national title game.
The Longhorns, seeded third in the College Football Playoff, fell to second-seeded Washington, 37–31, in the Sugar Bowl CFP semifinal.
At the end of June, the Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners will relocate to the SEC.
