Le’Veon Bell, a former standout running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers, recently made news by implying that he would like to rejoin the NFL. “We would be delighted to have him back if he does. The last time we saw him, he appeared to be in excellent health. Although we have some excellent running backs, he may offer some expertise to the team; we’ll take it from there.
On February 18th, Bell will commemorate his 32nd birthday. He left Pittsburgh in 2019 to sign a contract with the New York Jets, which was more lucrative. But he had ailments and his play declined during his tenure with the Jets. Bell succeeded in to finish 15 games with 789 yards and three touchdowns, considerably short of his best efforts.
Bell’s NFL career took a rough turn after the 2019 season, as he appeared in just 19 games the following four seasons. In light of his recent play and time away from the field, it’s unclear what exactly Bell may bring to the Steelers, and at what cost. It is likely that he would have to take a deal that was cost-effective if he wanted to return to the Steelers.
Although Bell’s exact contract demands are undisclosed, it makes sense to believe that the Steelers would come to a high-value agreement if they wanted to re-sign him. Bell might be a tremendous asset to the squad if he is occasionally used in the slot. In addition, he might be able to assist maintain the legs of prominent running backs like Jaylen Warren and Najee Harris by getting a few carries per game. Bell thinks he would be better than ever in 2024 if he would make a comeback.
Heyward was clearly excited at the possibility of getting back together with Bell.
