Lady Vols pick up dominant road win at Georgia
Tennessee used a dominant first half to build a lead as big as 20 points en route to a 22-point, 95-73, win on the road against Georgia on Thursday.
The Lady Vols were led offensively by Jewel Spear’s 25 points. It’s the 13th time Spear reached double figures as a Lady Vol. Rickea Jackson added 21 points.
Tamari Key was inserted into the starting lineup for the first time this season. The Redshirt Senior finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Jasmine Powell finished with nine assists. Powell is averaging 7.6 assists per game over Tennessee’s last three contests.
Jillian Hollingshead did not make the trip to Athens due to an illness.
The win gives Tennessee its third road SEC win of the season, and its largest margin of victory in SEC play this year.
Tennessee improves to 13-7 overall and 6-2 in SEC play. The Lady Vols remain tied for second in league play. South Carolina is the lone remaining unbeaten team in conference play.
The Lady Vols return to action Sunday inside Food City Center against Missouri. Tip-off is set for 2:00 ET.
