Defensive back Tyrann Mathieu starred for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2019 to 2021. Despite his diminutive size, he played with such ferocity and toughness that he was famously nicknamed “Honey Badger,” an animal that willingly enters beehives in search of food.
Does Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie remind his teammates of Mathieu, the player who earned that Honey Badger moniker?
“Definitely,” Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed exclusively shared, “that’s why I love playing with him … he’s an animal.”

Even though he never played that position in college at Washington, McDuffie has thrived.
He leads the NFL in forced fumbles with five. Fellow Chiefs cornerback Joshua Williams called McDuffie a “turnover machine.”
“Every week,” Williams exclusively shared, “it’s like he’s grabbing a fumble, pulling it out of somebody’s hands and doing something like that.”
