Houston beat the Tennessee Titans two weeks ago without Stroud and it must beat its AFC South rival on Sunday to potentially set up a winner-takes-all Week 18 game with the Indianapolis Colts.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams may end up as the most popular team to bet on Sunday.
Everything seems to be going right for Stafford, Kupp and Co. at the moment and they face a Giants team that ran out of Tommy DeVito magic on Christmas Day in Philadelphia.
The Rams scored at least 28 points in each of their last five games, a number the Giants reached once this season in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals.
The switch back to Tyrod Taylor from DeVito probably will not do much for the New York offense, especially against the Aaron Donald-led Rams defense that can wreak havoc on a consistent basis.
Los Angeles can take away Saquon Barkley’s effectiveness and force Taylor to match Stafford’s passing production to even have a chance of winning. The Rams held six of their last seven opponents under 100 rushing yards.
The Giants would kill to have half of a Kupp or Puka Nacua running routes for their quarterbacks right now. The lack of a big-play wide out should hurt New York’s chances to even be competitive with the Rams.
It is worth looking at the Rams’ team touchdown and points props on DraftKings Sportsbook in addition to the spread if you believe they will roll the Giants.
Tennessee at Houston
The Texans reside in a must-win spot at home against the Titans.
Houston needs a victory to move to 9-7 and at least remain in the No. 8 spot in the AFC standings going into its Week 18 battle with Indianapolis.
The Texans hold tiebreakers over every team beneath them and they need to beat the Titans and Colts in the next two weeks to leapfrog Indianapolis into the No. 7 spot.
C.J. Stroud’s return from a concussion will be a massive boost to an offense that got Nico Collins back last week.
The Stroud-Collins duo worked wonders all season long, and they need to link back up again to destroy the Tennessee secondary.
Houston’s defense must be on point against Derrick Henry again as well. Henry ran for just nine yards on 16 carries in Week 15.
The limitation of Henry will go a long way to limiting Tennessee’s point totals and to flip the field for Stroud and the Texans offense.
Devin Singletary ran for 121 yards in that win and Houston got 229 yards out of Case Keenum in place of Stroud.
