Saquon Barkley made the worst mistake we lost Giants….
strength of his thighs and quads. Barkley has shown off his intense squat rack lifts in multiple social medias posts, and was seen doing a set of 585 lbs in June.
So Barkley, with his authority when it comes to squats and fellow squatters in the NFL, kept it real when comparing the squatting ability of an opponents compared to his teammates on Thursday.
Barkley told reporters that one of the reasons the Philadelphia Eagles have been so successful in their infamous “tush push” play is because of how much quarterback Jalen Hurts can squat. The Giants and Eagles play on Christmas Day in Philadelphia.
“They have a quarterback who can squat over 600 lbs, I don’t think a lot of teams have that,” Barkley said that, then pointing to the quarterbacks on his own team. “No diss to Tyrod [Taylor] or [Daniel] DJ [Jones], or Tommy [DeVito]. I know DJ gets in there and wants to squat heavy, but I don’t think he can squat the number Jalen can squat.”
Like Barkley, Hurts developed fame for his squatting ability during his college career. Hurts was first seen squatting 600 lbs while at the University of Alabama in March 2018, seen in footage posted by former Crimson Tide strength and condition coach Scott Cochrane.
