No. 15 Kentucky defended its home court in Lexington against No. 11 Tennessee on Thursday night with an emphatic victory in Memorial Coliseum.
The Wildcats handed Kim Caldwell’s squad its seventh loss of the season with an 82-58 victory over the Lady Volunteers in the penultimate game of the regular season. Kentucky raced out to a 20-9 lead in the first 10 minutes and kept Tennessee at arm’s length for the next half-hour of on-court action. Tennessee guard Talaysia Cooper led all scorers with 25 points on 11-of-22 shooting.
Tennessee moves to 21-7 with the loss on Thursday and will now regroup for its regular season finale against Georgia in Knoxville on Sunday afternoon.
