- After a strong junior season that saw him named to the First Team All-State team in Alabama, wide Corey Barber has picked up a significant amount of interest from college programs. The unranked 2026 prospect from Spain Park High School in Birmingham has picked up 12 offers, including one from Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies.
“The coaches were down here recently and they dropped by,” Barber told Dawgman.com’s Scott Eklund. “They felt like I was a great fit for their program. I work hard, I can get open, I am productive, they liked what they saw and they said they want to get me up there for a visit soon and that’s what we are working on setting up now.”
A 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect, Barber was among the most productive players in the state, tallying 73 catches for 1,434 yards and 17 touchdowns. That has earned him scholarship offers from Arkansas, Oregon, and Washington, along with several other Group of 5 schools.
- Barber’s rise appears to be far from over, and he also has a good idea of what he’s looking for from a college program.
“There’s been a lot of schools through and I’m hoping for more offers once schools see what I can do,” he said. “I’m planning to get out and see what they have offer and then take visits in the summer. I’d like to decide before my senior season if I can, but definitely before the end of my senior season because I want to sign in December…A great coaching staff is also what I’m looking for. Do they get guys developed and ready for the NFL? Do they care about you and take care of you? That’s important to me.”
