AUSTIN – The University of Texas and head football coach Steve Sarkisian have reached an agreement on a contract extension, according to reports.
The exact terms of the deal have not been officially released, but Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte posted a photo with Sarkisian on Saturday.
“Hook ’em,” Sark responded.

The Action Network’s Brett McMurphy first reported the extension on Saturday.
Sources told McMurphy that Sarkisian turned down interviews with two NFL teams before agreeing to the extension.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel says the deal is a seven-year extension, running through 2031.
It is also expected to give Sark a significant raise.
By the numbers:
Sarkisian has spent four years in Texas, leading the Longhorns to a 38-17 record.
Under Sark, the Longhorns had back-to-back double-digit win seasons for the first time since the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
