FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas football coach Sam Pittman is expected to hire Nick Perry, a defensive quality control coach for the Seattle Seahawks, to fill the position of defensive backs coach for the Razorbacks.
Perry, a former Alabama standout safety, would replace Deron Wilson, who reportedly took the role as defensive coordinator at Georgia State last week. Wilson resigned his position with the Razorbacks on Jan. 3.
Perry, 33, spent the 2024 season with the Seahawks after serving as defensive backs coach for the Atlanta Falcons for two seasons (2021-22) and assistant wide receivers coach for one season (2023).
Prior to that, the Prattville, Ala., native worked for his former coach Nick Saban at Alabama as a graduate assistant (2017-18) and defensive analyst (201Perry played for two national championship teams at Alabama, in 2011 and 2012. He was a support staff member on the Crimson Tide’s championship teams in 2017 and 2020.
Perry signed a free agent contract with the Baltimore Ravens after the 2015 NFL Draft but did not make the active roster. He was with the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice roster the following season before starting his coaching career.9-20).
