Osimhen Allays Fears Over Injury, Ready for Super Eagles’ AFCON Qualifiers
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has dispelled concerns about his availability for the Super Eagles’ upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers after suffering an injury during yesterday’s match.
In a statement on his club’s official website, Osimhen revealed that he had merely felt a minor discomfort and had chosen to withdraw from the game as a precautionary measure.
“I don’t have a serious injury,” Osimhen assured. “I just felt a little discomfort and thought it wise to inform my coach. I didn’t want to compromise the team’s performance, so I opted to leave the game.”
Despite scoring two goals in the match, Osimhen expressed disappointment with the team’s draw. “I’m happy to have scored two goals, but we’re not satisfied as a team because of the draw,” he added.
Osimhen’s swift reassurance will come as a relief to Super Eagles fans and coaches, as the team prepares for the crucial AFCON qualifiers.
