Angel Reese, the dominant center for the Indiana Fever, had had enough. After being criticized by experts and analysts for her perceived lack of aggression on the court, Reese erupted for a career-high 37 points and 15 rebounds in a thrilling win over the Iowa Lynx.
“I’m tired of being doubted,” Reese said in a post-game interview. “I’m tired of being told I’m not good enough. Tonight, I showed them what I’m capable of.”
But Reese’s outburst wasn’t the only shocker of the night. Caitlin Clark, the Lynx’s star guard, dropped a stunning 43 points and 7 assists, including a buzzer-beating three-pointer to send the game into overtime.
“I’ve never seen anyone take over a game like that,” said Fever coach Carlos Knox. “Caitlin Clark is a special player.”
