A dismal NRL season for the Sydney Roosters may lose Cooper Cronk his position as head coach of the team. Numerous reports state that in light of the team’s unavoidable elimination from the playoffs, the Roosters’ halves consultant is being closely examined.
The dominant team, who often contends for the championship every year, is presently mired in 14th position on the standings with five games left in the regular season. The Roosters have only managed 8 wins and 11 losses so far this season, despite having a number of representative players on their roster, including Lindsay Collins, Joseph Suaalii, Joey Manu, Victor Radley, James Tedesco, and Joey Tedesco.
Leading journalist Danny Weidler revealed this week on ‘100% Footy’ that Cronk’s one-day-a-week employment at the club is under investigation and may not be secure for the upcoming season. “He works with the likes of Sam Walker, Luke Keary and Joey Manu, and there’s some chance they’ll re-evaluate his role,” Weidler stated.
“I suppose the evidence is in the pudding—not every member of the club is completely satisfied with Cronk’s job. Sam Walker hasn’t fired much this year; at one point, he was sacked. Joey Manu did not succeed, either. I’m not sure how much of that is Cooper Cronk’s fault.
However, they’re also looking into that circumstance. Although that doesn’t mean he’s left the club, we may nevertheless observe it with curiosity.”
Journalist David Riccio gave the following explanation on NRL 360 on Tuesday night: “Cooper is there as a halves consultant and given their current predicament, given their current attack, the Roosters are reviewing Cooper’s role at the club.” The work involves working with the halves one day a week.
