The racing series records for most points and wins in a year were recently set by Max Verstappen (above), capping up the most dominant season in Formula One history. He received a hefty salary for his efforts.
With a projected pay of $55 million in 2024, the 26-year-old racer is the highest paid driver in Formula One.
With a $14 million paycheck, Verstappen’s Red Bull Racing colleague Sergio Pérez comes in at number seven on the list. Only three teams have both of their drivers in the top 10 earners: Mercedes, Ferrari, and RBR.
Second and third on the list are Mercedes’s Lewis Hamilton ($45 million) and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc ($34 million). Lando Norris, who is the sole driver for McLaren to check in on the list—at $20 million—takes up the fourth position.
George Russell of Mercedes and Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin complete the top five, each earning $18 million.
Red Bull earned an estimated $131 million for winning the Constructors’ Championship, which will help them win the championship again and retain its elite driver.
