Myles Garrett, a defensive end for the Cleveland Browns, was named PFF’s best player of the 2023 season following a season in which he won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award.
With 86 pressures, four forced fumbles, and 14 sacks, Garrett wrapped up his MVP campaign. With a score of 93.6, he was the highest-graded defensive player in the NFL according to PFF’s measures, which were also used to crown him the league’s best player. In addition, Garrett had the highest pass rush win percentage in the NFL, outperforming the player opposite him on an incredible 27.5 percent of his pass rush snaps.
Garrett’s influence remained constant even though the number of sacks may have decreased because he was double-teamed by the most of any NFL player a year prior. The Browns will need their Defensive Player of the Year to keep up the pace if they hope to be competitive in 2024 (beginning with their actions in free agency).
