ST. LOUIS — Jordan Binnington, the goalie for the St. Louis Blues, heard the noise but was unaware of the reason for the ruckus.
Roman Bürki, the other immensely skilled and well-liked goalie for St. Louis, was featured on the Enterprise Center video board early in the Blues’ Wednesday night game against the Los Angeles Kings. This caused the 18,096-strong crowd to erupt in enthusiasm.
Binnington watched Bürki play the position expertly for St. Louis City in Major League Soccer during the team’s debut season last year, and Bürki was present for a Blues game this time.
“Helping the team win and coming out on top feels good. Winning is always preferable, Rantanen remarked. “I try to be a responsible defensive player and assist the team offensively.”
For his seventh career hat trick and first since April 6, 2023, at San Jose, Rantanen scored a goal in each of the three periods. This season, he has 37 goals, and in his last six games, he has 14 points.
