Chiefs Sign Former Steelers QB
The former Pittsburgh Steelers draft pick is headed back to Kansas City.
Pittsburgh According to KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson, the Kansas City Chiefs are signing former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Chris Oladokun to a future/reserve contract, bringing him back for a third season after back-to-back Super Bowl runs.
Despite being a seventh-round pick by the Steelers in 2022, Oladokun did not make the team during his rookie campaign. After the organization re-signed Mason Rudolph before OTAs, he was never really given a chance to contend for a roster berth. Once Rudolph, Mitch Trubisky, and Kenny Pickett entered the room, it was apparent who quarterbacks Pittsburgh would stick with.
After being released during roster cuts, Oladokun signed to the Chiefs practice squad, where he’s now won two Super Bowls.
The former Steelers draft pick joins defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs as for members of Pittsburgh’s roster now working in Kansas City. Both Oladokun and Buggs won Super Bowl LVIII while on the Chiefs’ practice squad, and will look to earn their place onto the roster in 2024.
