NFL says it is ‘deeply saddened’ by ‘senseless’ shooting at Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade as other teams send condolences to Kansas City after at least one person is killed
The tragedy that took place on Wednesday during the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade has left the NFL expressing its “deepest sadness.”
According to Kansas City police chief Stacey Graves, at least 22 people were shot and one person was murdered inside Union Station while players, staff, and supporters celebrated the team’s second consecutive win.
“We are profoundly saddened by the senseless shooting that occurred today near the end of the Kansas City Chiefs rally,” the NFL stated. We are all thinking of the victims and those impacted.
“We appreciate law enforcement and emergency personnel’s prompt and comprehensive response.”
Following the tragic events of the Super Bowl champions’ parade, the Baltimore Ravens also sent their condolences to the Chiefs, with Graves stating that three suspects had been taken into custody.
The Ravens made a statement on X stating, “In light of the tragic events and shocking violence that occurred during today’s parade in Kansas City, our hearts are with Chiefs Kingdom.”
“We send our full support to every citizen of the region and every member of the Chiefs organization who has been affected by this senseless tragedy on a day meant to unite people in joy and celebrate love.”
In response to the terrible violence at today’s parade, the Raiders released a statement saying, “The Raiders in Las Vegas are thinking of the Kansas City Chiefs and their supporters.” We offer our sincere sympathies to everyone impacted by this tragic event.
‘Our sympathies are with the victims, their families, the community, and the Kansas City Chiefs,’ the Titans said, adding a blue heart to their statement.

It has been established that every member of the Chiefs staff and players is safe and well.
The organization’s production crew, game day crew cheer squad, flag team, and mascots were all confirmed to be there by the team’s Vice President of Content and Production, Robert G. Alberino Jr.
