Luke Littler will not be allowed to play on the Development Tour due to his ranking position
The only competition in which Littler has received any prize money that has affected his standing on the PDC Order of Merit is the World Darts Championship. He received £200,000 for making it to the final, where Luke Humphries defeated him and he finished in 31st place.
A player’s ranking position in the Order of Merit is determined by their winnings over the previous 24 months, and it is based on a two-year rolling method. Littler has won all of his prize money during the previous year, which has helped to solidify his place among the world’s top 32.
According to PDC regulations, if a player finishes in the top 32 of the Order, they are not permitted to participate on the Development Tour.
of Merit. Littler, therefore, will be unable to defend a number of the junior titles he won last year.
However, former tour card holder Matthew Edgar has claimed that Littler will be allowed to defend his World Youth Championship crown after receiving assurances from the PDC. The Nuke defeated Dutch hotshot Gian van Veen in the final back in November, recording an average score of 102.16 on his way to glory.
In a video on his YouTube channel, Edgar said: “The darts he’s playing, I would dare to say we’re never going to see Luke Littler once again playing on that Development Tour. Luke Littler is the World Youth Champion. Can he defend that title? That’s the twist in the tale.
