Alabama State football player suspended for slapping security guard during game

According to a story, an Alabama State football player received a suspension after slapping a security guard who was attempting to stop him from going into the bleachers and attacking a fan.
Social media footage from Alabama State’s Sept. 23 game versus Florida A&M shows the player, identified by Alabama.com as wide receiver Jacob Freeman, losing his temper with a spectator in the stands.
Freeman allegedly slaps the guard in the face as he tries to stop him from pursuing the fan.
Shaking with amazement, the security guard moves closer to Freeman, who was restrained by one of his coaches following the hit.
Players from Alabama State hurried to the area and struck up conversations with spectators seated in the same row as the mayhem.
According to TMZ, Freeman was taken into custody by the FAMU Police Department and charged with one count of “battery causing bodily harm.”
Since then, he’s been let free.
Dr. Jason Cable, the athletic director at Alabama State University, denounced the act and announced that the athlete had been “suspended indefinitely” without specifically identifying Freeman.
Alabama.com stated, “We are aware of the incident that occurred last night involving an Alabama State University football student-athlete following our game against Florida A&M University in Tallahassee.”
“Neither the student-athlete’s behavior nor its representation of the standards established by our university and the athletic department are something we support. This kind of behavior is not tolerated at all. With immediate effect, the student-athlete has been suspended from the football program indefinitely.
Alabama State took down Freeman’s profile from its website following the game.
After playing for the Georgia State Panthers the previous season, Freeman transferred to Alabama State in February.
The player’s punch in the now-viral video, which has received over a million views, drew criticism from social media.
One person commented, “Kick him off the team!!!” beneath the original video that was uploaded to X, the website that was once known as Twitter.
“He ought to be benched and kicked off the team!” A other viewer made a comment.
Someone made the joke, “They lost 23-10 now he wanna put up a fight.”
“I’d file a lawsuit against the university and pursue charges if I were him! DURING THIS VIDEO, YOU WON A LAWSUIT. someone who is supporting the security guard’s lawsuit.
On September 30, Alabama State, who is 1-2 overall and 0-1 in league play, will host the Alcorn Braves, who are without a win.
