Lions Will Not Play 2024 Game in Brazil
Lions will not travel to Brazil in 2024
The Detroit Lions will not travel to Brazil in 2024.
According to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who addressed a variety of league issues at his annual media session ahead of the Super Bowl, the 2024 Brazil game will occur Friday night of opening weekend.
With the Philadelphia Eagles being named the home team, the Lions will clearly not be the opponent, as the two teams do not play next season.
“This landmark first international game in South America demonstrates the ongoing expansion of our global footprint,” said Goodell. “Playing on Friday night of Week 1 is a unique way to highlight our international growth and ambitions.”
In 2024, Dan Campbell’s squad will play a first-place schedule after winning the NFC North for the first time ever and its first division title since the 1993 season.
The Lions will square off against the first-place teams from the NFC East, the NFC South and the AFC East as part of next year’s schedule.
Detroit will host Chicago, Green Bay and Minnesota at Ford Field
