Ezra Mam is reportedly on the verge of shunning interest from six rival NRL clubs to re-sign with the Brisbane Broncos on a bumper new deal. According to the Daily Telegraph, the five-eighth will sign a four-year deal worth around $3 million to remain at Red Hill.
Mam has shot to superstardom over the last two seasons and scored three blistering tries in the Broncos’ loss to the Panthers in the NRL grand final. He has earned a significant pay rise after pocketing just $250,000 in 2023, but that figure will go up dramatically in 2025.

The new deal, which will be worth $750,000 per year on average, will be one of the richest in Broncos history. It will also help shore up Brisbane’s future amid a salary cap squeeze that threatened to affect him and gun fullback Reece Walsh.
walsh only made $450,000 this season but is also looking at a monster upgrade that will likely see him earn over $1 million per year on his next deal. The 21-year-old starred for Queensland in State of Origin this year and was pivotal in the Broncos’ run to the NRL grand final.
but there have been concerns that the club might not be able to afford to keep both of their young stars. However those fears have been allayed by Kurt Capewell’s immediate departure to the Warriors, as well as pay cuts that veterans Adam Reynolds and Corey Oates will take.
Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett had previously revealed the club were interested in Mam. “He was the best player on the ground in the grand final,” he said. “If he comes onto the market, we would certainly be interested. We have four halves who can play there, but Ezra is a quality player. There is a lot of upside in him.
“For a guy like Ezra, there’s probably eight other clubs too who are keen, so it does become challenging to get a guy like that. But if he is available, we’ll be in the mix. We’ve signed three or four guys from the Broncos. I’m not looking at what club a guy is at, I’m just looking at whether a player has the qualities we need and Ezra can certainly add something to us.”
