The former member of the Hurricanes was a three-star prospect coming out of high school.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Louisville men’s basketball program has officially added former Miami forward Danilo Jovanovich, the program announced Thursday.
Seven of the Cardinals’ eight currently committed newcomers for the 2023-24 season have now officially signed with the program. The lone exception is former USC guard/forward Tre White.
“Danilo is a talented, tough, skilled basketball player with an old-school mentality,” head coach Kenny Payne said in a release. “He will bring a winning spirit and unbelievable work ethic to our program that fans will love. This program has to be built on the character of the players walking in the door. Danilo is a super high character warrior who wanted to be in our environment. I’m excited to welcome him and his family to our Cardinal family.”
The 6-foot-8, 219-pound wing appeared in one game last season for the Canes, playing the final two minutes and eight seconds of Miami’s 79-56 blowout win over St. Francis Brooklyn. He did not log any stats.
He missed the first five games of the season due to a left ankle injury before making his debut. Once healthy, Miami head coach Jim Larranaga opted to shelve Jovanovich and to pursue a medical redshirt.
A product of Milwaukee (Wisc.) Whitnall, Jovanovich was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 190 player in the Class of 2022 according to the 247Sports Composite.
