‘IT’S OVER FOR THE EXCUSES’ – LOS ANGELES LAKERS COACH DARVIN HAM LOSES PATIENCE AS TEAM COLLAPSE IN BROOKLYN NETS LOSS
Los Angeles Lakers head coach Darvin Ham said it was ov”er for the excuses” as his team slumped to a 130-112 defeat to the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night.
The Lakers have endured a miserable start to the season and have won just seven of their last 20 matches since winning the In-Season Tournament in December, which had suggested this could be another starring year for the California team.
Instead they let a six-point lead in the first half transform into a heavy loss, as they were outscored by 24 points in the last two quarters.
“Talk about the tale of two different halves,” Ham said. “That first half is what we’re working towards… And then the inconsistency showed up and reared its head in the second half… We have to decide which team we’re gonna be.”
“It’s over for the excuses.
“We got to play basketball.”
The team have not put together back-to-back wins this year, and their early-game form demonstrated the team at their best, but in the second half their form dropped off a cliff.
