Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf made a Terrified statement and is over……
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf has allowed his emotions to get the better of him at times throughout this season, and he paid for his most recent outburst on Sunday.
Metcalf was ejected from Seattle’s game against the San Francisco 49ers along with 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir after a scuffle in the fourth quarter.
Metcalf slammed 49ers linebacker Fred Warner to the ground after he pitched the ball away following an interception. He and Warner got into it before players from both teams got involved in the fracas.
Metcalf had two catches for 52 yards and a touchdown, but it wasn’t enough as the Seahawks suffered a 28-16 loss to their NFC West rivals, which likely ignited his frustration.
The 25-year-old has been frequently involved in skirmishes against opposing players this year. In September, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said he had to have a “serious” conversation with Metcalf about cutting down on his penalties. However, Metcalf remained defiant.
“I’m not going to change the way I play,” he said a month later.
In 2021, Metcalf acknowledged that he needed to be more disciplined because he knew that defenders were trying to bait him into losing his cool. Two years later, it doesn’t appear that much has changed for him.
Sunday’s loss extended the Seahawks’ losing streak to four straight games. At 6-7, Seattle is falling behind in the race for one of the wild-card spots in the NFC. The team will try to bounce back when it returns to action on Monday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15.
