Steve Cooper now ready to ditch ‘unique’ Nottingham Forest player in January see more….
Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper is ready to ditch Divock Origi during the January transfer window. The striker arrived at the club on loan from AC Milan but has struggled to make an impact.
The Reds are hoping to try and land a new striker during the transfer window when it does reopen. Yesterday, Marvin Ducksch was linked with a move to Forest from Werder Bremen.
His arrival could spark a premature end to Origi at Forest. It was expected that heād be capable of making an impact at the City Ground but so far that hasnāt been the case.
Forest ready to ditch Origi
According to Team Talk, the writing could be on the wall for Origi at Forest. Heās barely featured for the Reds and itās claimed that Cooper is keen to send him back in January.
Origi has recently returned from an injury problem and almost scored late in the piece against West Ham prior to the international break.

Quite simply, other players are ahead of him in the pecking order at Forest. Origi is behind Taiwo Awoniyi who has four goals and Chris Wood who has scored three.
Forest better think carefully before offloading striker
Forest will have to make sure they get a striker of their own before deciding to send Origi back. Both Awoniyi and Wood have struggled with injuries and they mustnāt leave themselves short.
Jermaine Jenas has previously praised Origi. Heās called him āvery uniqueā on Match of the Day and itās clear that the 28-year-old still has something to offer a team.
That team might not be Forest though. Having played for just 59 minutes, it would appear that the Reds are looking for an alternative for Origi and changes could be made in January.
