A Premier League star has praised the talent of a current Leeds United player and agreed to let him move to the Whites.
Wales international centre-back Joe Rodon joined Leeds this summer on a season-long loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur and the defender has been outstanding in his 13 appearances for Daniel’s side Farke.
However, Rodon’s form comes as no surprise to his Tottenham and Wales team-mate Ben Davies, who says the defender’s loan move to Leeds always seemed like a good move.
Rodon’s playing time with Spurs has been limited since signing for Swansea City in October 2020, but Davies told Wales Online: “It’s been difficult.
Sometimes people forget how good he is Anyway, it’s hard to go anywhere and then you have to move every time for nine months in a new place.
But I think he’s really found his place at Leeds.
“Joe is a great player.
Every time I played with him for Wales he was solid, handled the ball well and I think we got along very well.
Watching him succeed in Leeds really makes me happy.
“Joe is one of my closest friends in football, so we talk all the time.
He’s the type of player that when he’s somewhere he feels appreciated and plays well, he’s a very, very good defender and I think he’s showing that at the moment.
” Pressed If Rodon needs advice on his move to the Whites, Davies said: “He doesn’t have to.
I think it’s a great opportunity to go there, he knows he’s going to go there and play a lot of football and play for a big club with ambitions of getting back to the Premier League.
He’s started very well and he’s enjoying it.
