Aston Villa are set to sign Nico Williams in January but face a tough task, it is claimed.
Villans were linked with Williams in the summer but a move never materialized.
Bilbao president Jon Uriarte also raised the possibility of tying the winger to a new contract with the Basque club.
Previous reports said the 21-year-old was ‘intrigued’ by the possibility of joining Unai Emery’s side.
Barcelona, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich and Juventus are also said to be interested in the player who has provided five assists in 10 games this season.

However, it is reported that he does not want to leave Bilbao in this way and the most likely scenario is that he will extend his contract with a “reasonable” release clause.
So it has been suggested that signing him in January would be difficult for Villa.
Williams’ contract expires at the end of June 2024 so he will be available on a free transfer if he does not sign an extension.
This versatile striker can play in the forward line and has 10 caps for the national team.
