This past summer, Paris Saint-Germain adopted a new transfer policy. Top French talent is desired by the capital club, particularly from the Greater Paris Area.
Will Paris players now consider joining PSG in the future as they embrace this new way of thinking? Randal Kolo Muani made the decision to leave Eintracht Frankfurt and return home.
Ibrahima Konaté, a defender for Liverpool FC, was asked if he would think about playing for PSG in his hometown during a Canal Plus interview. Konaté does not completely rule out the prospect of performing at the Parc des Princes in the future.
Konaté told the French media source (via Paris Fans) that “to say no to you would be to lie to you, but to tell you that this is one of my goals currently, no, not at all.” It makes perfect sense that PSG is not one of his priorities given that he is now in the thick of the Liverpool season. Nothing nowadays ties him to the club, even if it is the one from his home area.
“But, things could drastically alter if PSG wanted to sign him, as happened with Randal Kolo Muani, a 24-year-old striker who joined PSG this summer from Eintracht Frankfurt.”
The Frenchman and the Reds have a contract that runs through 2026. The center defender, who is 27 years old and in the middle of his peak, will become a free agency if he doesn’t sign an extension. When Konaté becomes a free agent in a few years, PSG will likely call his door and try to lure him back to the team.
