The Wolverines defeated Purdue 41–13 to extend their winning run of five consecutive conference games with 40 or more points scored. J.J. McCarthy, the quarterback, completed 24 out of 37 passes for 335 yards.
In the red zone, the Wolverines mostly relied on the run game, as backs Dylan Edwards and Blake Corum combined for four touchdowns. Michigan has outscored opponents 114-0 in the third quarter this season thanks to the defense’s ability to prevent Purdue from scoring in the third quarter.
Michigan dominated to maintain their perfect record even though it wasn’t a flawless game. In addition to the current investigation into sign theft, the team’s hardest test is yet ahead of them when Penn State travels.

Michigan outgained Purdue 445-269 yards, and although J.J. McCarthy did not pass for a touchdown, he did throw for 335 yards. McCarthy gained a great deal of yardage on his passes, but he also missed a few, including one that would have given Cornelius Johnson a touchdown.
The Wolverines had excellent defense. After intercepting a ball from Hudson Card, Will Johnson nearly had another one, but it was tipped. For the majority of the game, Michigan was perfect, but they did give up a very late score to Purdue.
