Al Nassr, a Saudi Arabia Pro League club, is apparently planning a meeting with Manchester City’s talismanic midfielder, Kevin de Bruyne, to explore a long-term contract.
Kevin de Bruyne sustained a partial muscle rupture after only participating in the Community Shield, which Manchester City lost to Arsenal earlier this season.
He has been trying to recuperate from the injury since then, and Manchester City appear to be doing fine without him. It’s worth noting that City are currently third in the league table, level on points (24 in ten games) with Arsenal.
As a result, sources stated that Manchester City will not prevent Kevin de Bruyne from leaving the club this winter or in the summer.
Despite this, Al Nassr is seeking to sign him and is willing to grant him a long-term contract despite the fact that he is 32 years old and prone to ailments.
According to Football Insider, Manchester City expects no less than £50 million from bidders for one of their greatest players, a sum the Saudi Pro League giants will not hesitate to spend for the Belgian football icon.
Earlier today, November 1, reports in the United Kingdom reported that Al Nassr executives are due to meet with De Bruyne to discuss the club’s long-term intentions in order to persuade him to join.
If their efforts pay off and De Bruyne joins Al Nassr this winter or next summer, he will be joined at the club by former Premier League rivals Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane.
It should be noted that the Belgian midfielder’s contract with Manchester City expires on June 30, 2025, and there are no indications that the two parties are working to extend it.
Last season, De Bruyne helped Manchester City win the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League for the first time in the club’s history and the first time in England since Manchester United achieved it in 1999.
Last season, the Belgium international scored 13 goals and gave 31 assists in 58 games in all competitions for City.
