A tweet from a seemingly parody account was sent to 49ers general manager John Lynch.
On Tuesday, shortly after the NFL trade deadline, an X account claiming to be Giants insider Wesley Steinberg tweeted about a fake Adoree trade with Jackson that fell through.
βThe #Giants reached an agreement with the #49ers for Adoree Jackson but did not report it to the league in a timely manner,β the account tweeted.
During his weekly radio show with “Murph & Mac” on KNBR in San Francisco, Lynch was asked about the “report” and denied its authenticity.
“That’s not true at all.
It’s not real,” Lynch replied.
After a quick read, Steinberg’s story is filled with jokes that aren’t particularly funny, such as: “#Giants team morale is currently at an all-time low following injuries to Tyrod Taylor and News about Daniel Jones’ release.
Jackson, who is set to become a free agent, was asked about the idea of ββa trade after practice last Friday.
“I feel fine.
I’m not even worried about it.
If anything happens, it’s ultimately out of my control.
I only control what I can control.
That’s the attitude mine when I come to work,” Jackson said.
βSo obviously for me, I want to be here.
β¦I had a lot of memories with those people.
A great connection.
So [I] know we’re still in touch, but I want to be here.
He said he has not broached the subject with head coach Brian Daboll or general manager Joe Schoen.βOh, I didn’t tell anyone,β he said.
βI don’t even want to talk about it.
If it comes to me, it comes to me.
It’s like anything in life.
When it is presented to me, it is presented to me.
