Defensive end Chop Robinson of Penn State will miss Saturday’s match against Indiana due to a gunshot wound to his helmet sustained during last week’s defeat by Ohio State.
Regarded as the fourth outside linebacker prospect by Mel Kiper for the 2024 NFL draft, Robinson left the game in the second quarter following an inadvertent hit from Ohio State offensive guard Matt Jones. Although a source informed ESPN that Robinson was feeling better after the game, Robinson had trouble standing up and was eventually wheeled to the locker room.
Robinson, a junior from Gaithersburg, Maryland, leads Penn State in sacks with three. He also has three quarterback hurries, five tackles for loss, and a forced fumble. In 2022, his first year at Penn State following a transfer from Maryland, he recorded 5.5 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, two pass breakups, three quarterback hurries, a fumble recovery, and a forced fumble, earning him honorable mention All-Big Ten honors.
Amin Vanover, a backup defensive end for Penn State, is listed as doubtful for the Indiana match. This season, he has 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble.
