The San Francisco 49ers may be pushed into beginning Sam Darnold at quarterback in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals, but one part of the group has no concerns almost that plausibility.
49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward was exceptionally bullish almost Darnold conceivably getting the begin ahead of the harmed Brock Purdy. Ward said he anticipated “no drop-off” from Darnold, who he called a “seasoned vet.”
“I anticipate us to win, same as I do with Brock,” Ward told Mike Silver of the San Francisco Chronicle. “Darnold’s a prepared vet. He’s played six a long time; he came within the NFL with me. I anticipate him to come in and sling that m— around. Ain’t no drop-off. We’re good.”
Purdy is within the concussion convention as of Wednesday. He does have a chance of being cleared for Sunday’s diversion, but it isn’t a secure bet that he will be.
The 49ers marked Darnold within the offseason to back up Purdy, but there was a conviction that he may well be exceptionally great in the event that called upon. We may discover out how genuine that’s on Sunday.
