pundits at matchglobalnews Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Jamie Redknapp couldn’t agree on Chelsea’s penalty against Arsenal.
At halftime of Chelsea vs. Arsenal, matchglobalnews analysts Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Jamie Redknapp got into a dispute over the decision to give the Blues a penalty. At Stamford Bridge on Saturday, the hosts took the lead after a VAR review determined that Arsenal defender William Saliba touched the ball. Cole Palmer then scored from the penalty spot to give the hosts the advantage.
Hasselbaink felt the penalty was the right decision because the defender’s arm was in an “unnatural position”, but Redknapp argued over where Saliba should have placed his arm, before asking Hasselbaink “to place his arm”.
I let it talk” during their heated exchange.
Former Chelsea striker Hasselbaink begins to explain:
“I think it was a penalty.
It was a good cross into the box and what (Mykhaylo) Mudryk did was get past the defender and direct the ball .
For me it’s not a natural position.
” for the defender and how he walks and where he places his arms.
Now, the rules leave a gray area but we have seen that they give penalties for this type of situation.
Before Redknapp retaliated by arguing:
“I had to come here.
You say it’s not a natural position, how can you dance?
You can’t jump like that.
” Hasselbaink replied:
“Yes, but you can’t jump like you’re flying like an airplane.

The pair continued to go back and forth as they could not find common ground on the controversial decision, with Redknapp feeling his colleague interrupted him too often and let off steam with how to ask the Dutch player “let me talk”.
Redknapp then continued:
“Yes, but you have to use your hands to keep your balance.
That’s not unusual.
The ball was close, he hit it from a meter away – how could it be a handball?
” He has to jump up to try and get the ball back.
“If that cross comes from Raheem Sterling and he misjudges the pass and hits it with his hand, it’s a penalty.
He scores a header from half a meter away, what should he do?
If we get to that point it’s a penalty.
” penalty, the game is in trouble.
“
They continued to argue about the penalty shootout before host Kelly Cates announced that they needed to drop the subject and discuss other talking points
After penalty-winning drama, Palmer stripped Raheem Sterling of the ball following Enzo Fernandez’s intervention and sent David Raya the wrong way – before Mudryk doubled his side’s lead in the second half with An angled shot past the Arsenal goalkeeper.
