Andy Robertson
As mentioned above, Robertson suffered a shoulder injury and may now be sidelined.
Commenting on the unfortunate incident following Scotland’s defeat to Spain, former Liverpool manager and current Tartans coach Steve Clarke said:
“It was an immediate decision to withdraw him, he will return to his club and he will be assessed.
“Obviously he’s injured his shoulder.
We’ll look at that, obviously going back to his club.
That always seems to happen when you lose a player in one position :
We lost Kieran [Tierney] on the left, then Andy had a shoulder injury.
“We’ll see how it goes, how things calm down and hopefully he’ll be back at the club as quickly as possible and ready to help us in November.
”
Cody Gakpo
The Dutchman, who scored for Liverpool in a match against Tottenham Hotspur marred by a VAR controversy, left north London with a knee brace.
But Klopp hopes Gakpo can be on the field after the current international break.
“Cody, there’s a good chance,” the Reds coach said.
“He’s got his splint off, he’s walking normally, so out of all the very bad chances and possibilities in terms of injury, I think he’s almost at his best but he’s still injured.
“Thiago Alcantara
Thiago Alcantara’s absence has now been 6 months, not appearing since April.
The Spaniard, who underwent hip surgery at the end of last season, is yet to return to training after recently suffering another setback in his recovery.
Klopp said:
“It’s just, especially for [Thiago] himself, it’s boring.
He is currently experiencing two setbacks in his recovery, not major but enough to take him off the field.
Obviously it’s not the same wound, not at all, but it’s a bit similar.
“It was as annoying as Stefan Bajcetic, who was there, played for a few minutes and then played for a few minutes and then felt something different.
That’s what sometimes happens after long-term injuries.
“I don’t know and I’m not going to ask for [their feedback] because I can’t anyway.
If they come back after the international, we will see that.
I hope it will be great.
”
Stefan Bajcetic
In a similar position to Thiago, Bajcetic is absent for a long time.
The midfielder underwent adductor muscle surgery in March before returning to the first team in September for the Europa League match against LASK Linz, after which he featured against Leicester City six days later.
Bajcetic had a minor problem after those two appearances, but no more can be ruled out.
Caoimhin Kelleher
The Republic of Ireland goalkeeper was due to start in Liverpool’s Europa League home match against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise but was involved in a collision on the training ground which left him needing 12 stitches.
Kelleher is expected to be out of action for several weeks, dealing a blow to his hopes of playing regularly in cup competitions.
Conor Bradley
The young right-back has been given time to rest after it was reported that a stress fracture in his back had delayed his recovery.
Bradley has yet to play a match for the Red Devils this season.
Giving an update on the 20-year-old ahead of the Red Devils’ trip to Brighton last weekend, Klopp said:
“Conor is on his way back, he’s running, but at this age and with these types of injuries, you tend to give them about three more weeks, which is not enough, because it involves body development and other things.
” such.
I can’t have this injury anymore, let me say it like that!
And that’s why he needs some time.
